Protests on April 19th

Hundreds of people showed up for the second set of protests in April, this time centered around downtown Half Moon Bay. Groups gathered on all four corners of the intersection of Route 92 and Main Street, as well as at Highway 1 and North Main Street.

A cacophony of car horns sounded as people drove by, expressing their support. While there was the occasional middle finger or expletive shouted from a passing car, the overwhelming number of drivers were supportive, with shouted thank-yous and thumbs up accompanying the honking.

Signs ranged from calls for due process and impeachment, exhortations to resist, and messages to the government to stop attacking programs and departments, and to release Abrego Garcia.

The media seems to be paying more attention to these protests versus the ones earlier in the month, with CNN and NPR publishing stories on the heels of the nationwide protests.
