Rep. Liccardo Town Hall Livestream

On Tuesday, 22 April, Congressman Sam Liccardo will be holding a town hall at Mavericks House (107 Broadway, Half Moon Bay).  Concerned that space is limited at the venue, and that some people aren’t comfortable with indoor meetings, Rep. Liccardo’s staff will be livestreaming the event via Facebook.

So please feel free to join remotely as our Congressman speaks to the issues of the day.

Protests on April 19th

Hundreds of people showed up for the second set of protests in April, this time centered around downtown Half Moon Bay. Groups gathered on all four corners of the intersection of Route 92 and Main Street, as well as at Highway 1 and North Main Street.

A cacophony of car horns sounded as people drove by, expressing their support. While there was the occasional middle finger or expletive shouted from a passing car, the overwhelming number of drivers were supportive, with shouted thank-yous and thumbs up accompanying the honking.

Signs ranged from calls for due process and impeachment, exhortations to resist, and messages to the government to stop attacking programs and departments, and to release Abrego Garcia.

The media seems to be paying more attention to these protests versus the ones earlier in the month, with CNN and NPR publishing stories on the heels of the nationwide protests.

More Protests!

We need to keep protesting to ensure our voices are heard! Coastside Democrats are joining up with La Honda Indivisible again, and this time the protests will be centered in downtown Half Moon Bay.
On Saturday, 19 April starting at Noon, join us at the intersection of Highway 1 and North Main Street (the Chevron/Strawflower intersection) or at Main Street and Highway 92.
Please bring your signs and noisemakers. Remember to stay out of the street and out of the medians — sidewalks only.  Do not engage with any counterprotestors; just stand in solidarity with your fellow Coastsiders. We have the right to peaceably assemble.
